Background and approach • F&AC to form a task force chaired by USA • Chairs of the Goal committees, IDI, the Secretary General and Director of Strategic Planning together with the Chair make up the task force • All member SAIs shall have opportunity to comment on the Plan • Goal Chairs responsible for the Update under their respective Goal

  4. Structure - Strategic Plan 2011-2016 • New plan merely an update of the current Plan • Same Goals, Mission and Vision as before • New strategies (programs and activities) to be added and some of the established strategies to be maintained • Expected Benefits

  5. SAI Comments first Hearing round • Comments and proposed new Strategies and Expected benefits under the four goals • More focus on key challenges that INTOSAI are likely to face from 2011 onwards • A new chapter in the document reflecting those key challenges.

  6. Goal 1: Comments: Strategic nature Technical nature Rephrasing of sentences Proposals: New Strategies New Expected Benefits DSP suggested some changes in the draft based on the comments Goal Chair considered the comments of more Strategic nature • 1

  7. Goal 2 and 3: Comments: • Technical nature • Replacing of text • Rephrasing of sentences DSP suggested some changes in the draft plan based on the comments

  8. Goal 4: Comments: • Strategies were more operational than Strategic in nature DSP in close cooperation with the General Secretariat drafted New Strategies for the Goal Chair and Chair of the Task Force to consider

Strategic Priorities 2011-2016: • Independence of SAIs • Implementation of ISSAI framework • Capacity building of SAIs • Demonstrate the value and benefit of SAIs • Fight against Corruption • INTOSAI Communication 4.   10. Progress and Status per May 2010 • Revised Draft Strategic Plan 2011-2016 of March 2010 • A new revised Plan (April 2010 version) • Translation to all INTOSAI languages is foreseen in May 2010 • Governing Boards approval in May? • Second hearing round scheduled in May
