Caracterización de la Península La Esperanza La península La Esperanza está localizada en el área norte del municipio de Cataño y al sureste de Isla de Cabras, colinda por el Norte y por el Este con la Bahía de San Juan y las aguas del Mar Atlántico, al Oeste con los terrenos de BacardiCorporation, y al Sur con la carretera PR-888 y la Urbanización Bay View. (Junta de Planificacion,2008) En el área se puede encontrar flora típica de humedales costeros como el Mangle rojo (Rhizophora mangle), Mangle negro (Avicenniagerminans) y algunos ejemplares de Mangle blanco (Lagunculariaracemosa), también se pueden encontrar especies exóticas como Casuarinaequisetifolia y Coco nucifera. La fauna es muy abundante encontrándose aves como la Gaviota chica (Sternulaantillarum), el Playero blanco (Charadriusalexandrinus), Pelicano pardo (Pelecanusoccidentalis) entre otras.
