Threats to Kamchatka • Russian military uses the uninhabited parts to test missiles, b/c of that there is pollution. • Out of 763 species, 16 species are endemic and 38 species are endangered. • The bird fauna, 232 species, 31 of them are listed in the Red Book of Russia. • Out of 58 species of animals, 9 species of cetaceous mammals are endangered.
