  2. High School Transcripts • Wyoming Transcript Center • WISER ID’s • Required for all schools per Sups Memo No. 2009-090 (handout) • Must be clearly indentified • Calculating high school GPAs for Hathaway • Must be unweighted, calculated on 4.0 scale • Rounding not allowed

  3. High School Transcripts • Hathaway courses • Districts must indicate which courses on a student’s transcript meet Hathaway requirements • The field to store national course codes is available on most districts’ SIS systems

Hathaway Success Curriculum • Requirements for 2010 graduates (handout) • Requirements for 2011 graduates (handout) • Course Verification Process • Districts can add and/or delete courses from their Success Curriculum any time • Course verification process for 2010-2011 courses will begin in December and run through February

  5. 3 Hathaway Requirements • In high school • Success Curriculum • GPA • ACT • In college (handout) • GPA • Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) • Continuous Enrollment (CE)

  6. Requirements for Hathaway • Students must enroll in at least 6 non-remedial credits to receive Hathaway money each semester • Students must enroll in at least 1 credit every semester (excluding summer) to stay continuously enrolled

  7. 4 Levels of Hathaway • Honors- 3.5 GPA/575 GED plus 25 ACT = $1,600 per semester • Performance- 3.0 GPA/540 GED plus 21 ACT = $1,200 per semester • Opportunity- 2.5 GPA/500 GED plus 19 ACT = $800 per semester Awarded for the equivalent of 8 fulltime semesters, only 4 of which at community colleges.

  8. NEW Provisional Opportunity • 2.5 GPA/500 GED plus 17 ACT/12 WorkKeys= $800 per semester • Replaced the Career level scholarship • Only level students can take WorkKeys for

  9. Provisional Opportunity • Students awarded 4 semesters at first. • If earn 1st certificate or degree at community college, awarded 4 additional semesters if cumulative GPA is 2.25 or higher. • Students may use additional semesters at community college or UW.

  10. Hathaway General Requirements • May NOT be used to pay for remedial credits • Students have exactly 24 months to apply for Hathaway after the date of high school graduation • Students can defer using Hathaway up to 2 academic years after high school • May want to wait until after completion of remedial or prerequisite coursework

  11. WDE Updates • 2009-10 State ACT/WorkKeys test will be on Wednesday, April 27, for all juniors • Students can retake the ACT/WorkKeys as many times as they want up to Hathaway initiation. Institutions take the highest score when awarding Hathaway. • Always check http:www.k12.wy.us/Hathaway.asp for updates, including the recently updated Quick Reference Guide for Counselors.
