  2. Performance Expectations • You will be able to recognize specific historical landmarks of China. • You will know a brief history of major landmarks. • You will understand the significance of several landmarks. • You will become familiar with the culture of China.

  3. Directions • 1. Go through the virtual field trip and read all of the information provided on the slides. • 2. Click on all external links and read information about each landmark. • 3. Read the book on China and look at the pictures. • 4. Take notes on your findings of each landmark. • 5. Complete a poster with your favorite landmark. • 6. Sign up for your pen pal from China.

  4. Beijing • Pronounced “Bucking” in China. • Capital of China • Includes many historical landmarks such as The Great Wall of China, The museum of Chinese History, and The Great Hall of the People.

  8. Assessment • Pick your favorite landmark that you have learned about. Make a poster with a picture of that landmark and a minimum of three facts. • Go to the pen pal in China website http://penpal.52en.com/ and click join for free. Enter you information and take a snapshot of yourself using the webcam.
