  2. LOOSE HANDLE ON A DOOR If your door has newer hardware that has exposed screws, you can tighten a loose handle relatively easily. Using your screwdriver, tighten the handle if necessary. You can use a screwdriver to remove an older doorknob if it has no exposed screws and you can find the button on the side of the knob.
