  2. INTRODUCTION Reading is one of the four tests in IELTS examination. Both general and academic candidates have the same reading tests. We have come across to many people who have admitted that completely reading 3 big paragraphs and answering 40 questions within 1 hour is just tough.   4. DETAILS ABOUT IELTS READING QUESTIONS In this part, you will be receiving a total of 14 different types of questions. You will obviously have only 60 minutes in your hand. A total of 40 questions will be there. These 40 questions are categorized into different sections which you must complete. For each passage, you will be getting 3 to 4 different types of questions. Skills: • Scan for specific information in a passage • Pay attention to the main and supporting ideas • Selectively choose appropriate words Tips: • Identify the exact type of word required to fill every gap (verb/noun/adjective etc.) • Point the information in the passage for selecting the right word. • Pay attention to your grammar while writing a sentence. • Pay attention to the word count that can be used for every answer. • Answers, generally comes in an order

SENTENCE COMPLETION QUESTIONS Task: You have to complete the sentences by taking words from the passage Skills: • You have to scan for specific information • You have to select the most appropriate words • You should understand all information given in a passage. Tips: • Identify the exact type of word required to fill every gap (verb/noun/adjective etc.) • Point the information in the passage for selecting the right word. • Pay attention to your grammar while writing a sentence. • Pay attention to the word count that can be used for every answer. • Answers, generally comes in an order.

TITLE SELECTION Task: You have to select an appropriate title from a given list Skills: • Pay attention to the aims, main idea and supporting ideas of a passage Tips: • Focus on the opening and closing of the paragraphs • Find out the differences of the possible titles • Avoid spending too much time on this question as it carries only 1 mark.
