  3. The first skill for success is using your values to make decisions. What is a value? • Something very important to you • What truly motivates you • A belief about what is right and wrong

  4. Successful people use their values to make decisions. If you use your values to make decisions, you will increase the chance that your decisions will be good decisions. Why is this the case?

  5. Questions • Do you think everyone in this room has the same values? • What does that tell you about values? Rate values activity How does a person gain his/her values? Why do you think your top value is what it is? Who or what influences your values?

  6. Does the media have a role in the development of values?

How do successful people use their values? • When people consider their values as they make decisions what will happen to the quality of the decisions they make? • If we don’t make decisions that are in agreement with out values, what happens to us? • Why must we think about the values shown in television and magazines?
