  2. Fine Arts Program rated Recognized Morningside Choir At Morningside ES music classes are offered to Pre-Kinder -5th Grade students daily for 45 minutes. The Music Teacher is the campus choir director. Our choir participated in various campus performances and UIL music memory throughout the year. Cheerleading Performances took place as well on campus and public venues such as the South Texas Stingrays Basketball game. Morningside Cheerleaders Morningside ES

Red Ribbon Week and South Texas Stingrays Wellness and Physical Education Programs rated Exemplary Activities which took place at Morningside ES include Red Ribbon Week, BISD Track Meet for students and the Autism Run, which was a community fundraiser to raise Autism Awareness in which faculty, staff and students participated. Morningside ES

  4. Community and Parental Involvement rated Recognized Doors to Morningside ES are always open to community members and parents. There is a Parental Involvement Center utilized as a meeting room in which parents are invited weekly to attend different informative sessions. Morningside ES

  5. BISD College Awareness 21st Century Workforce Development rated Exemplary College Awareness is celebrated daily throughout the campus with each wing being named after a University. We currently have Harvard, UT, A&M, Baylor, Stanford and Rice hall. College t-shirts are worn every Thursday recognizing the college selected by their grade level. The district designates two days as “College Awareness” days and Morningside takes part in the district’s awareness as well. Morningside ES

  6. Charro Days Second Language Acquisition Program Exemplary Cultural traditions were observed such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Charro Days, El Dia Del Muerto and Patriot Day. Writing Portfolios, ESL Computer assisted intervention and software such as Rosetta Stone were implemented in order to serve the ELL population Patriot Day Morningside ES

Digital Learning Environment rated Recognized Trainings for technology Campus Software : Aware, Living With Science, Tango, TPRI/Tejas Lee, Istation, Think Through Math and Envision were conducted throughout the year. Means of communication include Project Share communication, email, school website, BISD Messenger, eSchool Plus, Aware (PDAS), BISD Website BISD Email Morningside ES

  8. Dropout Prevention Strategies rated Exemplary 100 Point AR Club PEIMS, at-risk attendance reports were monitored throughout the year. At-risk students were given the opportunity to participate in accelerated instruction (e.g. before school, after school; summer school; and 21st Century; recovery programs). Morningside ES

  9. BISD Science Fair Gifted and Talented Program rated Recognized Students in grades 1st – 5th grade were identified as gifted and talented. GT students received differentiated instruction in order for them to be challenged to reach their fullest potential. Students were also given the opportunity to participate in BISD activities such as Science Fair, Brainsville and UIL. School Wide Winter Olympics Morningside ES
