    1. Intracellular Digestion The role of the four organic compounds in the cell

    2. Objectives At the conclusion of this unit students will be able to Explain how the process of diffusion, active transport and passive transport occur and why they are important to cells. Compare and contrast endocytosis and exocytosis. Explain the importance of homeostasis within the cell. Investigate the properties of plasma membranes using soap bubbles.

    3. Endocytosis To define this term consider the three roots Endo- means inside cyto- means cells sis means process What comes in through this process? External fluids Macromolecules Large particles Other cells

    4. How does endocytosis work? During endocytosis the membrane folds in and forms a small pouch. This small pouch is where substances are trapped and surrounded by lipids. This pouch then pinches off from the cell membrane to become a vesicle.

    5. Intracellular Digestion of Starch

    6. Take two minute and write three to five sentences explaining the Intracellular Digestion of Starch

    7. Intracellular Digestion of Starch

    8. Intracellular Digestion of Lipids
