  9. Experiment • Place a few strands of spirogyra in a drop of water on slide, cover with coverslip • View under low power to focus • View under high power • Draw diagram of cell, include magnification and size. • Irrigate slide with saline solution

  10. Slide irrigation • Place a drop of saline solution on slide at edge of cover slip • Use small piece of paper towel on opposite edge of coverslip to absorb fresh water

  11. Experiment • Observe the cells for a few minutes • Describe the changes • Draw diagram of the cells • Irrigate with fresh water • Observe the cells for a few minutes • What happens? Write in books
