  2. What is a wiki? • Wiki is a Hawaiian word that means quick. • A wiki is a website that userscan work together to create. • It is easy tolearnand instantly saves members’ work to the page.

Why use a wiki? • We want to use a wiki because it is a way for us to communicate with each other, our school community, and our parents and guardians. • In Curiosity, we look for student direction in deciding what we want to know. We also want to talk about and share our questions, discoveries, and understandings. • Our wiki will let us do this during the school day and beyond…

  4. How do I use a wiki? • Return your Wiki Warranty. • Record your username and password. • Remember, a deal is a deal! • If you are unsure, ask for help.

  5. How do I find our wiki? • Double clickInternet Explorer • Typein the address bar http://mrsm-m.wikispaces.com and press Enter • When our wiki is displayed, clickSign in

  6. How do I sign in? • Type your username and password (In case of a brain freeze, record this private information in your agenda! • Select Sign in

  7. Where do I go? • Use the navigation bar on the right-hand side to find the required page and click on it. I only edit my page!

  8. How do I write on a wiki? • Select the Edit button from the top menu bar • Your screen will appear gray when you are in Edit

  9. How do I write to a wiki? • Make sure the cursor is blinking where you want to add text and type your words. • Press Save • View your entry! • Sign Out before closing the Internet.

  10. Let’s get started! • Guided practice • Post on our wiki something that you learned about veterans and or Veterans Day.
