  1. Most Common General Dentist Procedures

  2. Here are a few most common general dentistry procedures done by dentists – • A lot of people find it quite overwhelming to visit a dentist as they think the procedures are quite dangerous but that isn’t true. • Visiting a dentist on a daily basis keeps your dental health on check as a dentist does all sort of things to prevent or cure your teeth from any damages.

  3. 1. Fillings and Repairs – • There can be so many reasons due to which you may end up ruining your teeth – maybe because of tooth decay or dental trauma, but in order to make your teeth better, your dentist takes a few general measures. • Restorative materials are normally used to repair your teeth and before that your dentist can also use various methods to determine the kind of issue. • These methods can be the use of cavity detecting dye, x-ray, laser fluorescence and many others.

  4. 2. Root canals – • If you don’t yet know what exactly root canal is, then let us enlighten you – it is method of removal of the tooth’s pulp, which is actually a small thread like tissue found in the center of the tooth. • After the damaged, deceased or dead pulp is removed; the other remaining parts are cleaned, shaped and filled perfectly.

  5. However, the pulp of the tooth actually contains nerves, arteries, veins and nerve tissues so by the time decay advances near or into the pulp, the tooth is at high risk of infection and it also starts to ache. • This procedure seals off the root canal.

  6. 3. Dental crowns – • The use of dental crowns is also very important and can be a very useful general dentistry procedure. • This one is used in order to protect the damaged, cracked or broken tooth. • The caps usually sit particularly over the entire tooth and lies over the gum.

  7. 4. Bridges and implants – • The use of bridges and implants aren’t a new thing and these are two ways of replacing a missing tooth or a set of teeth. • A bridge however, is used to replace one or more than one missing teeth.

  8. Then again, the dental implants are more of a metal posts that are placed surgically into the jawbone beneath the gums in order to act as an anchor for the missing teeth. • There are many other procedures that are quite useful when it comes to general dentistry.

  9. THANKS • However, you need to make sure that you are approaching a right dentist for the procedure.
