You need to open a new blank Access database to import the Excel sheet into it. • Choose "blank desktop database" to create a new database within the Access program. • Give it a new name if you want. Click "create."

Import an Excel spreadsheet into Access • The next step is to pull the Excel spreadsheet (or more than one) into the Access database. • Click on "External Data" in the toolbar once you are within the Access database manager.
