  2. Important questions • What galaxy are we living in? • What effect do the sun and the moon have on our planet? • How many planets are in our solar system?

  3. OBjectives The students should learn how many planets are inside our Milky Way galaxy. Teach the children the names of the stars and different locations. Learn how the planets effect the Earth in relation to the sun and moon rotation.

  4. activities • Fun activities would have to include a field trip to a local observatory or planetarium • Also take home projects might help the students have a better understanding of the size and space of the planets and stars in relation to our Earth

  5. TEKS • First or second grade level information with small group activities including drawing and/or painting the stars and planets observed. • Also, the students would be able to pick their favorite planet and explain to the rest of the class why its their best. • The students will understand that many factors including the sun and moon affect the entire world we live in, without getting too complicated obviously. • Examples would include the ocean and rotation of the sun in relation to our Earth.
