  1. Carbon Footprinting By: Nathan Van Avery

  2. Why Carbon emissions are bad • new research from Stanford University shows that CO2 emissions will kill an additional 1,000 US citizens every year for every 1 °C rise in temperature they cause. The deaths will be concentrated in urban areas, and because of its large population and number of big cities, 30% of the deaths will be in California.(at a global level, the estimate is 21,600 per year.)

  3. How to reduce the amount of carbon you put out. • There are three primary methods of capturing CO2.  Pre-combustion, or separating CO2 from gasified coal prior to combustion; post-combustion, which captures CO2 from the flue gas stream after the coal is burned; and oxy coal combustion, where the combustion of coal takes place in an oxygen-rich environment, resulting in flue gas more ready for sequestration.(the storage of carbon dioxide in a solid material through biological or physical processes )

  4. 10 things you can do to reduce global warming. 1. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle2. Use Less Heat and Air Conditioning3. Change a Light Bulb4. Drive Less and Drive Smart5. Buy Energy-Efficient Products6. Use Less Hot Water7. Use the "Off" Switch8. Plant a Tree9. Get a Report Card from Your Utility Company10. Encourage Others to Conserve

  5. My Footprint Obviously I far exceed the amount that I should. Granted this isn’t entirely accurate because I do not know the real numbers involved, so I just estimated. My footprint CountryAverage World Goal
