  9. A good conclusion For example : A good example for the conclusion : To sum up, there is a range of explanations to account for the US CAD. This essay put forward three possible explanations, one of which is that the expanding fiscal deficit formed as a result of its trading imbalance with partners, in particular the bilateral trade relationship with China. Other explanations put forward are savings relative to investment and China’s fixed exchange rate policy known as the ‘pegged exchange rate’. Given the evidence provided, it was determined from evaluation of the explanations outlined that the US high levels of investment in relation to a lack of private and public savings is the most plausible explanation for the existence of the US current account deficit. The main theme or topic of the assignment The structure & approach summarised Your opinion summarised This sentence should infer the “big picture” from the conclusions already made throughout the assignment In the conclusion you should state your opinion clearly. Remember don’t add any information that has not already been addressed in the body of your assignment.

  10. Some good examples for citation(referencing techniques)

  11. Citation / Referencinghttp://www.lib.uts.edu.au/help/referencing/harvard-uts-referencing-guide Direct quote: • ‘The troubles we now face were caused largely by the combination of deregulation and low interest rates’ (Stiglitz, 2008, p.28). Or • Stiglitz (2008), puts forward the view that difficulties faced now ‘were caused .........’ (p.28) --- it’s not good referencing to take a whole sentence for a direct quote – weave it into your sentence Citation examples (by paraphrasing) : • Stiglitz argues that the current economic problems are a result of deregulation and low interest rates (2008). • Deregulation and low interest rates have been blamed for the current economic climate (Brown, 2005, cited in Stiglitz, 2008). Reference list (In author’s alphabetical order) – last page of the report Jackson, J., Mclver.R.
