  1. Our Fantastic 3rd Grade Class Welcome Parents!

  2. Welcome to Third Grade! • I will introduce you to third grade and to our classroom. • If you have any questions during my presentation, I will be happy to answer them.

All About Me • My family • Husband – Rob, married for 16 years • Children – Joshua 14, Hannah 13 and a baby boy due in November • My background • I grew up in Bartlett/ Cordova, TN – where I attended school from elementary through high school. • I graduated from University of Memphis with a Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education. • My experience • This year begins my 6th year as a teacher. • I have taught 3rd for 5 ½ years. I also taught special education and preschool for 2 years.

  4. My Goals • To give your child the academic & social skills needed to progress to 4th grade. • To provide a safe, supportive, & fun classroom environment. • To help your child make new friends and discover new interests. • To challenge and help grow your child academically and socially.

Policies • School Safety • All visitors must report to the office upon arrival • Please have your ID • New Attendance Policy • Students will be counted absent if they miss more than 2 hours and 17 minutes of the day. • Tardies & Check Outs • School starts at 8:25–Students will be tardy after 8:30 • After 15 tardies, students will be suspended for 1 day. Every 3rd tardy after that results in 1 day suspension. • DismissalTimes : Car Riders-3:20 Bus Riders-3:25 • Transportation Change • Bus Passes- I need one for any bus changes.

Expected Behaviors • Classroom Behaviors(these apply everywhere) • Do nothing that keeps you or your classmates from learning. • Keep hands, feet, objects, and hurtful words to yourself. • Respectfully follow all directions. • Hallway & Bathroom Behaviors • Use “Walking Feet”. • Stay behind the person in front of you. • Keep writing utensils out of the hallway & bathrooms. • Stay silent.

Expected Behaviors • Playground Behaviors • ALWAYS go DOWN the slide on your BOTTOM – ONE at a time. • Only one person at a time in a swing. • No jumping off any play equipment. • Line up quickly & quietly when you hear the first whistle. • Cafeteria Behaviors • Stay silent in the serving line. • Talk softly to the people around you after eating. • Stay seated until the teacher dismisses you.
