  1. Pt 1. The wounded son When life hurts Jeremy LeVan 3-19-2017

  2. 1 Samuel 16:10-13 10 Thus Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, “The LORD has not chosen these.”11 And Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all the young men here?” Then he said, “There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here.”

  3. 1 Samuel 16:10-13 CONTINUED 12 So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!”13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.

  4. 1 Samuel 17:28 Now Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger was aroused against David, and he said, “Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle.”

  5. Every great man and woman has to rise above the pain of their past to reach their God given destiny.

  8. Diligence - “I do my best and then stop.”

  9. Diligence - “I do my best and then stop.” Driven - “I can’t stop.”

  10. Medicate it Motivate it Meditating it

  11. Here’s what Great Men and Women do with it…

  12. Here’s what Great Men and Women do with it… They face it.

  13. Philippians 3:5-6 5 circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee; 6 concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless

  14. Acts 20:24 But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the LORD Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.

  15. Greatness in God’s Kingdom is not how many great things you can do for God... Greatness in God’s Kingdom begins with how many scars you allow Him to redeem.

  16. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

  17. They face it. Forgive and “Forget” it.

  18. Philippians 3:13-16 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.

  19. If you wont let the past die, it wont let your future live.

  20. Forgiveness doesn’t make them right, it just makes us free.

  21. They face it. • Forgive and “Forget” it. • 3. They follow Jesus away from it.
