  1. FIFA World Cup 2010! By: Mai Phung- 7E

  2. The Place • FIFA World cup 2010 was held in South Africa.

  3. The stadiums (1) •  Green point stadium - Nelson Mandela Bay stadium • Mbombela stadium • Peter Mokaba stadium • Royal Bafokeng stadium • Loftus Versfeld stadium. • Durban stadium • Ellis Park stadium • Soccer City • Free state stadium

  4. Teams (2) • There were 32 teams in total and there were 4 teams in the final which were: • Uruguay • Netherland • Germany • Spain

  5. What was the scoring sequence and who scored? (2) • The final game was between Netherlands and Spain. The score was 0-1 to Spain with extra time. At 116’ André Iniesta scored the first goal for Spain after 2 passes.

  6. Describe using Football terminology the sequence of play leading up to the goal. (3) (4) • André Iniesta used his football terminology to lead up to the goal by first using his one touch to control the ball. When you control the ball it would be easier to kick it at the exact place you want to kick it to. He gained all of his strength when he controlled the ball and right footed, he kicked it in the Netherlands’ goal and scored. From what I see from the video, it shows that his teammates made very accurate passes. Andrés Iniesta kicked the ball in a very perfect angle.

  7. What could the defense have done to more effectively try and stop the goal being scored? (5) • The defense from Netherlands team could have stopped the ball from being goaled by watching the way and the direction the ball is going to. When I watched the video on YouTube, I saw that when Andrés was about to score only Robben (number 11) was trying to steal the ball back all of the other defenders were just standing there and watching while they could have helped and stop the ball from scoring.

  8. Was there any movement ‘off the ball’ by other attackers to draw defenders away from the goal scorer? If yes what happened and what was the effect of this? (4) • The player kicked the ball right away after he received the ball from his team mate. First he controlled the ball, then he kick it lightly until he knew it was the right time to kick. He shoot really hard and he goaled.

  9. The result • Netherland VS Spain: 0-1 • Germany VS Uruguay: 3-2 • First place: Spain • Second place: Netherland • Third place: Germany • Forth place: Uruguay
