  3. Eco Club Good morning, yesterday was Earth Day and Bag the Bruck started officially this weekend all over Orkney. The Eco Club would like to thank you all ahead of time for doing our very own Bag the Bruck here at school this week. We hope to highlight the need to take care of our environment. Anne Marie from Eco Schools Scotland was in touch on Friday to say that we were successful in renewing our Green Flag. In the letter it said – “Congratulations in retaining your third renewal of your Eco Schools Green Flag Award. It was obvious from your submission you young people and school community are committed to protecting the environment. You have achieved so much since your last assessment, you have obviously worked very hard to reach your targets outlined in your Action Plan well done! This is an outstanding achievement, so please pass on our congratulations to everyone involved” So well done to us!

  4. Eco Club A few reminders for Can everyone please stop breaking branches off the trees as some of the younger children can trip over the broken branches. The crisp muncher is for crisps and not for standing on – please take care! Everyone is on LAW Duty this week as it is Bag the Bruck. The Eco Club would like to have a working party to plan our Eco Action Day so we will meet this Thursday 26th April at 2pm in GP Room 2.

  5. Eco Club Our current Eco Club along with some of our past members.

  6. P3 Book Exhibition All P3 classes have been learning how to make a story book using our imaginations. We started by working with local artist Laura Drever who helped us create our settings. Then we worked with local artist and author Britt Harcus who helped us create and develop a character. Next, Michelle Robertson a local author came in and showed us how to develop a plot. This process took weeks and weeks. We all worked really hard drafting and redrafting parts of our story. Eventually we created our own books where we were the author and illustrator. The auxiliaries kindly bound our books together. Finally they are now being displayed in our exhibition at the Orkney Library. Please come along and have a look.
