  1. Energy Meters ME

  2. Aims • You need to keep control of your power consumption, • to follow the power consumption by sector, unit, workshop, • to better manage your electrical installation and optimize your building energy efficiency • Schneider Electric has designed the ME for the sub-metering of active energy (rms) consumed by a single phase or three phases electric circuit.

  3. Scope of application • Commercial & Industry • shops in shopping centers, airports, railway stations, hospitals … • Shared spaces, offices, workshops, machines • Energy Efficiency (new rules to save energy in some countries) • Exhibitions • Trade and fun fairs, • camping sites, mobil-homes, caravans, bungalows, • weekly street market, • marinas, quaysides. • energy generation: windmills, solar energy, photo-voltaics, fuel …

  4. Scope of application • Residential & small Commercial • apartments, houses, • Seasonal rentals, bed and breakfast, • Camping sites: mobil-homes, caravans, bungalows ME1zr (1P+N)

  5. ME Kilowatt hour meters: a complete range • Direct three-phase+neutral ME4 63A • Direct three-phase ME3 63A • Direct single-phase ME1 63A Class 1 40 to 6000A • Through CT’s three-phase+neutral or three-phase ME4zrt

  6. ME Energy Meters • The ME kilowatthour meters: • comply with the IEC 61557-12 standard • are available in 8 versions, according to their options: 3-phases 3-phases + N Single-phase • Global Meter ME1 ME3 ME4 • + Partial meter ( with reset: zero )ME1z • + Remote ( remote transfer )ME1zr ME3zr ME4zr • Partial meter + Remote + CT ME4zrt ( zrt ) DIRECT 63 A Via CT

  7. Improvements on the last version • Class 1 • Lead sealing accessory (for direct measurement versions) • Complies with new standards: IEC 61557-12 & IEC 61557- 21 (accuracy) • Marking improvement • Icons rather than text when possible rather than Imp. Rather than Pulse • Clarification: Imax: 63A Ib: 10A rather than 10(63)A • Adding of the consumption in VA • Individual date – code • Note about the individual calibration and tester reference • Instruction leaflet improvement • More languages: 16 • More technical data’s: ex I start • Explanation about the flashing meter indicator utilization • Explanation about error messages

  8. 2-module width Direct single-phase ME spare room for the comb Pulse output for Remote transfer ( r ) flashing meter indicator Total or partial meter display 5-digits + decimal point Push-button: total or partial meter display. Partial meter reset ( z ) Lead sealing accessory • voltage and current inputs • 230 V AC, • direct 63A, 50/60Hz • no power supply

  9. Direct three-phase ME3 (without Neutral) Pulse output for Remote transfer ( r ) flashing meter indicator Total or partial meter display 5-digits + decimal point 4-module width Push-button: total or partial meter display. Partial meter reset ( z ) Lead sealing accessory • Voltage and current inputs • - 3X230 V AC, 3X400 V AC • direct 63 A, 50 and 60 Hz • no Power supply

  10. Direct three-phase ME4 (with Neutral) Pulse output for Remote transfer ( r ) flashing meter indicator Total or partial meter display 5-digits + decimal point 4-module width Push-button: total or partial meter display. Partial meter reset ( z ) Lead sealing accessory • voltage and current inputs • - 3X230/400 V AC • direct 63 A, 50 and 60 Hz • no Power supply

  11. pulsing contact ( r ) Voltage inputs N, L1, L2, L3 3X230/400, 3X230, 3X400 V AC 50 and 60 Hz flashing LED : counting witness 5-digit LCD display + decimal point total or partial read out partial meter reset ( z ) Three-phase ME4zrt with CT 4-module width Current inputs L1, L2, L3 via CT 40 to 6000 A

  12. Marking on the side Eco design (see the certificate) Individual calibration Designed by Schneider Electric Tester reference C36 07410016 Date – code for traceability Manufactured and calibrated in a Schneider plant in Grenoble for a better quality monitoring

  13. ME: Advantages • Compactness • Complies with new standards: IEC 61557-12 & IEC 61557- 21 (accuracy) • Direct measurement up to 63 A • No CT’s • No auxiliary Power Supply • Cabling and wiring saving • True RMS Metering • Accuracy unchanged in unbalanced mains supply • Stores the data in EEPROM in the event of a main failure • Measurement via CT from 40 to 6000 A • Partial meter with resetting • Remote transfer output • Single-phase products are compatible with the comb • Manufacturing in France in a Schneider plant
