  4. The Internet • The internet is “a vast computer network linking smaller computer networks worldwide.” (dictionary.com) • It can be used for many reasons, including: • Research • Education (Teacher website to student website) • Communication with teacher and other students

  5. Why Use the Internet? • The Internet is used on a daily basis by students: • They use the computer lab to do research • Learn how to conduct your own research • Check their school’s website, such as University of Arizona’s D2L • Check their teacher’s websites for assignments and grade updates

  6. The SMART Board • The smart board is an interactive white board that can enhance learning and instruction • More than 1.8 million are installed worldwide • Cost: under $1,000 for the most basic model, up to $3,000
