    1. The Power of the Blessing

    2. "The Lord bless you and keep you;  The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace." ' Num 6:24-26 (NKJV)

    3.  Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree" ),  that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Gal 3:13-14 (NKJV)

    4. History of the Blessing in the Bible. God told Adam to: A. Be fruitful and multiply B. Subdue the earth C. Take dominion

    5. When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Prov 29:2 (NKJV)

    6. The second blessing spoken of in scripture is found in Genesis 12. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." Gen 12:3 (NKJV)

    7. This is why the United States MUST support Israel at all costs! They are still Gods’ CHOSEN PEOPLE.

    8. Jesus modeled the need to speak blessing. In the Sermon on the Mount he spoke nine.

    9. Blessed are the poor in spirit … those who mourn …hunger, thirst after righteousness … merciful, pure in heart, peacemakers … and those who are persecuted

    10.  One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16 (NLT)

    11. And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them.  Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. Luke 24:50-51 (NKJV)

    12. So if one of the first things and last things Jesus did was to bless, shouldn’t we follow His example?

    13. The Blessing in spiritual warfare Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse will not land on its intended victim. Prov 26:2 (NLT)

    14. The power and permanence of the blessing. Once the blessing is spoken into existence it cannot be broken by men

    15. In Genesis 27 we read of Isaac blessing Jacob, who had deceived him. He told Esau that he could not rescind the blessing that had been spoken.

    16. Over and over the Bible is clear on the need to bless. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind.  But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.  With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God.  Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.  Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? 1 James 3:7-12 (NKJV)

    17. Look at 30 things the bible says we can say in blessing to others. 1. God bless you with ability. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil 4:13 (NKJV)

    18. 2. God bless you with abundance. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this," Says the Lord of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. Mal 3:10 (NKJV)

    19. 3. God make his angels go with you. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. Psalms 34:7 (NKJV)

    20. 4. God give you assurance of His love.  These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:13 (NKJV)

    21. 5. God bless you with clear direction. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Psalms 37:23 (NKJV)

    22. 6.God bless you with a controlled life.  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV)

    23. 7.God bless you with courage. Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Josh 1:6 (NKJV)

    24. 8. God bless you with creativity. Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law. Prov 29:18 (NKJV)

    29. 13. God bless you with a good spouse.  Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.  The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain.  She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. Prov 31:10-12 (NKJV)

    30. 14. God bless you with hands to bless others.  And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;  they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." Mark 16:17-18 (NKJV)

    31. 15. God bless you with happiness. Then he said to them, "Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength." Neh 8:10 (NKJV)

    37. 21. God bless you with an obedient heart To the Spirit of God.  And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Eph 4:30 (NKJV)
