History -About 100 years ago, it was just a little sea-side town. -Many foreign businesses soon snatched up property in this prime area, and the town of Shanghai flourished into a booming city! -Back then, they were receiving many typhoons. Because of this, the municipal government decided to build a levee along the shoreline to protect the Bund.

  3. Things to Do in the Shanghai Bund Here are a few things you can do in the Shanghai Bund: • Visit the Beautiful Yuyuan Garden • Visit the Jade Buddha temple • Take a bike tour • Take a boat tour • Or, shop at one of its many stores!

Fun Facts Some fun facts about the Shanghai Bund, are: • In the Bund, there is museum dedicated to the history of the Bund. • There is one place you can go to, where you take a ride through a some kind of a tube. This tube takes you to the other side of the Bund, across the river. • By the 1920’s and 1930’s, Shanghai was probably the most important city in Asia.
