  2. 30 Second Challenge • How many times can you jump while using a single bounce in 30 seconds? • Partner counts, then switch

  3. Single Bounce • Right / Left Foot" - Jump on right foot only or left foot only - single bounce

  4. All Jump Rope Skills to Use: • Right/Left Foot only • Backwards/Forwards • Bell • Skier • Scissors • Twist • Can-Can Kick • Kick backwards • X • Straddle Wide • Criss Cross Arms • Face to Face • Moving Face to Face • 2 people 1 rope • Side by Side • Wheel (on wall) • Kansas City Twist • Double Time

  5. Backward • Jump the rope 10 times without missing while turning the rope backward.  Use a single bounce.

  6. Bell • jump front / back with both feet together turning the rope forward.

  7. Skier • jump left to right with both feet together turning the rope forward.

  8. Straddle • Jump over the rope and land with feet together.  On the next rotation jump over the rope, landing with feet apart...together / apart...

  9. X • Jump over the rope, land with feet apart.  Jump over the rope, land with feet crossed.

  10. Scissors • Cross in front

  11. Criss Cross • Start with the rope behind your feet.  Swing the rope overhead, crossing your arms unitl your elbows touch.  When the rope comes back up overhead, uncross your arms for a basic jump.  Repeat.

  12. Side Swing and Jump • Single • 1. Swing rope to left side 2. Move hands apart in front.  Jump     over rope. 3. Swing rope to right side 4. Move hands apart in front. Jump      over rope. • Double • 1. Swing rope to left side 2. Swing rope to right side 3. Move hands apart in front. Jump     over rope. • Teaching hints • - Keep feet together - Keep hands together on side swing - Single rhythm: swing-jump- swing-jump - Double rhythm: swing-swing-jump

  13. Partner Jumping Skills • Face to Face: 2 people 1 rope • Moving Face to Face: Jump person, jump the space, jump the person, jump the space

  14. Over and Under • 1.  Stand side by side 2.  Swap inside handle with partner 3.  Turn ropes alternately so that one      is up while the other is down

Chinese Jump Rope • Chinese jump rope requires at least 3 people to play.  Two are rope holders and one person jumps the rope.  The rope begins at the holder's ankles.  The jumper attempts to complete a sequence of moves without any mistakes.  If the jumper is successful, he / she repeats the same sequence with the rope now at the knees.  A jumper's turn continues until he / she makes a mistake.  When a jumper makes and error, he becomes a holder and a new jumper takes his / her turn.

  17. Skinnies • Holders place only one foot in the rope.  The jumper jumps over the rope in a "skier" motion... both feet together, side to side or left to right 10 times.  If successful, move the rope up to knee level and try again. 

  18. Americans • 1, 2, 3, 4, in, out, in, on / straddle left, straddle right, staddle left, straddle right, both feet inside the rope, both feet outside the rope, in again, and land with both feet on top of the rope.

  19. Diamonds • - Jumper will form a diamond with the rope by lifting one side of the rope over the opposite side and stepping inside with both feet.  The jumper will do 180 degree jumps spelling various words, then in, out, in, and on.
