  10. (1) Survey • (a) What do you already know? • (b) What do you think you’ll learn?

  11. (2) Click/Clunk • Click = I get it! • Clunk = I’m confused. • Example: word you don’t know • Try out Fix-Up Strategies!

  12. (2) Click/Clunk – Fix Up Strategies • Reread the sentence without the word. Think about what information that is provided that would help you understand the meaning of the word. • Reread the sentence with the clunk and the sentences before or after the clunk looking for clues. • Look for a prefix or suffix in the word. • Break the word apart and look for smaller words you know.
