  1. Top 10 Things EVERYONE Needs To Know About The Dallas Cowboys There’s no need for Dallas Cowboys fans to panic! Training camp is right around the corner. While everyone awaits for football to officially be back, there are 10 new members of the team, including players signed in free agency and taken in the NFL draft. 1. RB, Alfred Morris. Morris was known for making a powerful running game presence with the Washington Redskins, but that’s all in the past now. The Cowboys signed Morris to a two-year, $3.5 million free-agent deal. This was a clever move made by the Cowboys as they add an additional running game attack to their game plan. What you need to know. Darren McFadden was the NFL's fourth-leading rusher last season and the Cowboys still went with the decision to heavily search for another running back position this offseason. They selected Ezekiel Elliott fourth overall in NFL draft but, with McFadden's odd iPhone-elbow incident, Dallas is looking pretty smart holding on added Alfred Morris as a free agent. The team is hopeful that Morris’ presence will be a success and that his contributions to the team will be good enough for opponents to fear their running game.

  2. 2. DT, Cedric Thornton Thornton’s athletic abilities was always troubling for the Cowboys to handle in the past, but now he’s on their side. Thornton was previously with the long-time rival, Philadelphia Eagles and the Cowboys signed the veteran to a four-year, $18 million free-agent deal. Thornton’s physical stature is one the Cowboys need on the defensive side of the ball. What you need to know. With suspensions to Randy Gregory and DeMarcus Lawrence, the Cowboys could be counting on Thornton early on in the season to produce on a thin defensive line. Thornton’s leadership and experience in the league is one the Cowboys are hopeful can make an impact on the rest of the defense.

  3. 3. OL, Joe Looney. Even though the Cowboys already have an outstanding offensive line, doesn’t mean the team cannot add another useful lineman to their roster. Looney previously played for the Tennessee Titans and the San Francisco 49ers. Fortunately, the Cowboys signed Looney to a two-year, $1.68 million free-agent deal. The Cowboys may not have spent so much on Looney, but they are confident his skills will be an exceptional contribution to the team. What you need to know. As mentioned before, the Cowboys already have one of the best, if not the best, offensive lines in the entire NFL. The addition of Looney gives the stout front line some depth, especially if the team ends up trading Ronald Leary.

  4. 4. DE, Benson Mayowa. Mayowa is not only a new face to the Cowboys, but he’s also new to the National Football Conference. Previously, Mayowa was playing for the Oakland Raiders and the Cowboys were able to sign him to a three-year, $8.55 million free-agent deal. Fans should recognize that not only do the Cowboys want to improve their offense, but mainly their defense who was one of the worst in the league last season. What you need to know. The Raiders had the opportunity to match Dallas' free-agent offer since Mayowa was a restricted free agent, but Oakland chose to let him walk. Like Thornton, Mayowa could be a player who benefits from the Gregory and Lawrence suspensions. The Cowboys have left him the opportunity to prove himself as a worthy player; how will he respond?

  5. 5. LB, Justin Durant. Durant was part of the Cowboys successful 2014 season, but after being traded from the team last season, he saw it as an opportunity to prove the Cowboys made the wrong choice of letting him go. Last season, Durant played with the Atlanta Falcons and the Cowboys decided to sign the returning Cowboy to a one-year free-agent deal. What you need to know. This is Durant's second stint with the Cowboys after playing for the team in the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He'll be asked to fill in the presence of the linebacker position for Rolando McClain, who has a 10-game suspension to start this season.

  6. 6. RB, Ezekiel Elliott. Elliott had his fair share of success in college as he helped Ohio State capture another national championship back in 2014. Even with Ohio State missing the College Football Playoffs last season, Elliott was able to make his presence felt on the field. The Cowboys picked Elliott as the fourth overall pick in the NFL Draft. Not only are the Cowboys sure that Elliott will make an outstanding impact in the NFL, but they are hopeful he will be considered another great running back the Cowboys can add to their legacy. What you need to know. Elliott has some lofty expectations being set for his rookie season. There are media members and NFL enthusiasts that are drooling at the possibilities of what he can do behind the Cowboys' offensive line. This upcoming season will only tell how great Elliott can be for the team and fans to enjoy.

  7. 7. LB, Jaylon Smith. Smith played for Notre Dame, who is considered the most recognized and well respected teams in college football. He is definitely a force to be reckoned with and for that reason, the Cowboys picked Smith as the 34 overall pick in the NFL Draft. What you need to know. Will Smith ever play again? It all depends on how his knee heals. The Cowboys could be getting a steal at linebacker ... or be taking a massive risk with Smith's health uncertain, time will only tell what will happen.

  8. 8. QB, Dak Prescott. This oversized and athletic quarterback made quite the impression back in Mississippi State. Prescott was picked by the Cowboys as the 135 overall pick of the NFL Draft. What you need to know. Something the Cowboys have not done in a while is draft a quarterback. In Jerry Jones' tenure the team has taken Stephen McGee, Quincy Carter and now Prescott in the draft. Will Prescott be Tony Romo's heir?

  9. 9. DL, Charles Tapper. Yet again, the Cowboys were not kidding when they said they wanted to improve their defense. Tapper was one of the many exceptional players who played for the Oklahoma Sooners. The Cowboys picked Tapper as the 101 overall pick of the NFL Draft. What you need to know. The Cowboys also selected defensive lineman Maliek Collins in the draft, but Collins is already facing injury delays. Mayowa and Thornton have some professional experience under their belts. Can Tapper quickly adjust to the faster pace of the NFL to help along the defensive line?

  10. 10. TE, Rico Gathers. Gathers does not have any football experience, rather he was a basketball player for the Baylor Bears. The Cowboys can only hope that Gathers can bring a different flavor to the team. Gathers was picked by the Cowboys as the 217 overall pick of the NFL Draft. What you need to know. Gather is coming to the Cowboys from the Baylor basketball team, but the Cowboys obviously believed he was worth a look by taking him with their final pick in this year's draft. Will he be able to transition from the basketball court to the football field? With all this in mind, don’t miss out on Cowboy’s tickets!
