  3. Medical transcription or MT is the process of transcribing voice recorded medical reports. Physicians dictate reports orally and it is recorded using devices like the Philips speech mike and others. Later the same is transcribed into text format by a transcriber that transcribes the dictated contents into text manually or using software that performs automatically. Use of software is common as it dispenses with the necessity for any manual transcription and is usually faster and moiré accurate. MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION SOFTWARE Medical transcription software or MTS is specialized speech recognition program. MTS contains database of medical terminologies and it uses them to convert voice into electronic texts. These texts can be transferred over a network of can also be printed using printers. Advantage of using the software is that the work is faster and there is no problem of recognition of actual words due to pronunciation issues.

  4. EMR SOFTWARE AND EHR SOFTWARE Electronic Medical Records can be created using EMR Software and similarly the Electronic Health Records can be generated using EHR Software. Distinction between the two is that EMR provides a narrower view in respect of the patient’s medical history. EHR on the other hand provides a much broader as well as comprehensive report indicating the overall status of health of patient concerned. Difference between the two is that EMR generates medical history and EHR generates health status reports.
