  1. 2COMS What Young India Wants from Employers Young India—also known as millennial India—is just like the increasingly millennial workforce of the world. They want and need meaning and direction, along with a good balance between self- interest and altruism at work. Baby boomers are a world apart from Millennials in terms of their views about work and employment. This is why staffing companies know very well to adjust their recruitment styles for this generation. For young employees, purpose precedes everything—including their paycheck. If your organization is unable to map out a vision of their future with your company, it will be difficult for you to keep them happy and satisfied in it. While millennials know the importance of money and enjoy earning a paycheck, their fulfillment comes from being a part of something that’s bigger than themselves. They are on an endless journey towards happiness and a balanced life, which is why employment staffing agencies advise organizations to package their vacancies in a way that best caters to what these young employees are looking for in a job and an organization to work for. According to recent studies, the most important things that young people look for in a company include purpose and direction, security, money, holidays and time off, great people, and flexibility in working—in roughly the same order. Millennials are self-assured. They know very well what their career potential is and their confidence is only swayed when an employer is unable to provide them with a clear vision. This is why having a hazy vision of where your organization is headed is a sure recipe for a high turnover, especially nowadays when millennials are starting to make up more than half of the entire workforce. This is also why you should invest in staffing services that has a good focus in integration— something that millennials look for. It is critical to create an effective on-boarding program and one that will provide young people a clear sense of their part in the company’s mission, purpose, goals, and value. Making young professionals aware of where and how they fit in your game plan will help you better make use of their potential and strong sense of self-assurance.
