  1. Types of Radiation Therapy, As Cancer Treatment Radiation Oncology

  2. What is Radiation Oncology? Radiation therapy or radiotherapy, also abbreviated as RT, RTx, or XRT, is a therapy that uses ionising radiation to regulate or destroy malignant cells. It is typically administered as part of cancer treatment and is typically delivered by a linear accelerator.

  3. Types of Radiation Therapies 01. Brachy Therapy 02. Proton therapy 03. External beam radiotherapy 04. Intensity modulated radiotherapy

  4. BRACHY THERAPY A sealed radiation source is positioned inside or close to the area that has to be treated in brachytherapy, one of technique of radiation therapy. PROTON THERAPY Proton treatment, often known as proton radiation, is a sort of particle therapy used in medicine to irradiate diseased tissue—most frequently, cancerous tissue.

  5. External beam radiotherapy The most used type of radiotherapy is external beam radiotherapy. An external source of ionising radiation is focused at a specific area of the patient's body while they sit or lie on a couch. Intensity modulated radiotherapy An enhanced form of radiation treatment used to treat cancer and benign tumours is intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). With the use of cutting-edge technology, IMRT can mould photon and proton radiation beams to fit a tumour. MORE
