  1. BREAST REDUCTION

  2. Introduction • Breast reduction surgery (reduction mammoplasty) is to reshape and reduce breasts sizes through taking out some of the skin tissue. It can also make the area of dark skin surrounding the nipple smaller. • If most of the breast is fatty tissue, liposuction is used along with the surgery. • Breast lift (mastopexy) is same with breast reduction, except for some cases only skin is removed. It can lead to sagging breasts, which is a common problem with large and heavy breasts and can increase the nipple and areola.

  5. Gauze is placed over the openings and the breasts are wrapped in an elastic bandage or supported with a special surgical bra, straight away after the surgery. • Within 1 to 2 weeks, stitches might be removed. • After surgery, most women will encounter some breast pain for the first few days and then, milder discomfort for one week or longer. • Medicine can help lessen the pain • Swelling and bruising may last for several weeks • Wearing a surgical bra 24 hours a day can help reduce swelling and support the breasts while they heal. • You can go back to your normal work and social activities within a couple of weeks, except for very strong exercises and you might need to avoid them more for 3 to 4 weeks or more.
