  9. SISTEMA OPERATIVO LINUX Es un software libre, es decir, no hay que pagar nada por el sistema en sí. Es un sistema operativo muy fiable ya que hereda la robustez de UNIX. Ideal para las redes ya que fue diseñado en Internet y para Internet. Es 100% configurable. Es un sistema seguro, ya que al disponer del código fuente es sensible a la localización de algún fallo. Tiene amplia documentación. Cuenta con el soporte de empresas como IBM, Corel, Lotus, Siemens, Motorola, Sun. Se puede encontrar ayuda en millones de sitios en Internet como los foros. Es muy portable, si se dispone de un Mac, un Alpha o un Sparc; se puede usar Linux sin problemas.

CONCLUSIONES La elección de un sistema operativo implica tener un amplio conocimiento del mismo, que nos permita diferenciar los recursos que estos nos presentan, pero sin dejar de lado los contra o desventajas propios de aquellos. De ahí deberíamos tener en cuenta: Entorno e interfaz de trabajo entre el usuario y el ordenador. Seguridad, rendimiento y velocidad. Costos factibles.
