Search engine basic : • Search engines are programs that search documents for specific keywords and returns a list of the documents where the keywords were found. • Some of the popular search engines are google,bing,baidu,etc.
Working of search engine : A search engine operates is a three manner : • Web crawling • Indexing • Ranking and serving results
Types of search engine : search engines are categorized in two categories based on their result gathering • Crawler based search engine ; These types of search engines use a "spider" or a "crawler" to search the Internet. The crawler digs through individual web pages, pulls out keywords and then adds the pages to the search engine's database • Human powered directories : a human powered dire3ctory such as the open directory,depends on humans for its listings.
