Almen Strips Three Thicknesses to Choose N – A - C
Almen Strips • Relationship of arc height response according to thickness of the strip • N strip is .031” • A strip is .051” • C strip is .094” Presented by The Shot Peener www.shotpeener.com
Almen Strips • The “A” strip is the most commonly used strip. • For higher intensity peening use the “C” strip. It is thicker and does not bend as readily as the “A” strip. • For lower intensity peening use the “N” strip. It is thinner and bends easier than the “A” strip. 28 “C” strip for very high intensity .028A = .008C “N” strip for very low intensity .024N = .008A Presented by The Shot Peener www.shotpeener.com
Intensity Range • For peening intensity above .024” A use the “C” strip. • For peening intensity below .004” A use the “N” strip. Presented by The Shot Peener www.shotpeener.com
