Bar Graph • A graph using bars to show data.
Line Graph • A graph used to show how data changes over time.
Pictograph • A graph using picture or symbols to show data.

Tally Marks • A mark used to record data on a tally chart.
Area • The number of square units needed to cover a region.
Array • A way of displaying objects in rows and columns.
Angle • A figure formed by two rays that have the same endpoint.
Line of Symmetry • A line on which a figure can be folded so that both parts match exactly.
Intersecting Lines • Lines that cross at one point.
Line • A straight path of points that is endless in both directions.
Line Segment • A part of a line that has two endpoints.
Parallel Lines • Lines that never intersect.
Diagonal • A line segment other than a side that connects two corners of a polygon.
Edge • A line segment where two faces of a solid figure meet.
Centimeter • A metric unit of length. • Smaller than an inch. ( c m )
Kilogram • A metric unit used to tell how heavy an object is. • 1 kilogram equals 1,000 grams. ( k g )
Kilometer • A metric unit of length. • 1 kilometer equals 1,000 meters. ( k m )
Even Numbers • A whole number that has 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 in the ones place. • A number that is a multiple of 2. 0 2 4 6 8
Odd Numbers • A whole number that has 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9 I the ones place. • A number not divisible by 2. • 3 • 5 7 9
Expanded Form • A number written as the sum of the values of its digits. 1,000 + 500 + 40 + 6 1,546
Place Value • The value given to the place a digit has in a number. 9,672 600
Isosceles Triangle • A triangle with at least two sides the same length.
Hexagon • A polygon with 6 sides.
Octagon • A polygon with 8 sides.
Congruent Figures • Figures that have the same shape and size.
Flip • (reflection) • The change in the position of a figure that is the result of picking it up and turning it over.
Slide • (translation) • The change in the position of a figure that moves it up, down, or sideways.
Turn • (Rotation) • The change in the position of a figure that moves it around a point.
Factors • Numbers that are multiplied together to give a product. 2 X 7 = 14
Hundredth • One of 100 equal parts of a whole. 1 out of 100
Tenth • One out of 10 equal parts of a whole. 1 out of 10
Digits • The symbols 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,and 9 used to write numbers. • 0 1 2 • 4 5 • 7 8 9
