If you love a succulent variety of fish cake you need to buy mayonnaise, horseradish, mustards, a small shallot, and flat leaf parsley. These ingredients will be used to make the sauce that is an essential combination that will make the fish cake delectable. To prepare the fish cake, you need about 500g of skinned Icelandic cod or some other variety of fillets according to your taste preferences. You also need about 150ml of milk, a small quantity of chopped parsley, snipped chives, 3 or 4 tbsp of vegetable oil, flour for shaping the cake, 2 eggs and a couple of potatoes. You should first mix the ingredients kept aside for the sauce thoroughly. You should now place the fish in a frying pan and pour the milk over it. You should also add water to the pan and the bay leaves. Cover with a lid, lower the flame and simmer for five minutes. Squid
Take the pan out of the flame and allow it to stand for a few more minutes to ensure that the fish is cooked properly. Now in another pan, clean the potatoes and chop it into small chunks. Pour water to the pan, add salt and cook the potatoes for about ten minutes. Take out the fish from the pan now and place it in a flat plate. You should take out the potatoes after it the heat is out and drain it. Place it low flame on a pan and mash it gently. Now take the fish and mix it with the potatoes using your hand in a gentle manner. Now you have to beat the egg in a plate and mix the flour. Now you need to take the fish and potato combination and roll it in the flour-egg mixture. Make it into the shapes of small cakes and fry it in oil.
