Program Goals & Objectives • Advanced training in the clinical practice of dentistry • Diagnosis and treatment planning in a problem based manner using total patient evaluation • Proficiency in interdisciplinary interaction in outpatient, hospital and didactic settings • Clinical & hospital experience in comprehensive & emergency oral care to a wide range of patients • Simulation of the practice of dentistry in a private practice setting • Engage in the practice of dentistry based on a critical review and presentation of the literature

Clinical Phase • On-service rotations (8.5 mos) – • General Dentistry Service: • Clinic (University Dental Center) • Hospital (UDC, MHH, TIRR) • Off-service rotations (3.5 mos): • Anesthesiology (1 mos) • Internal Medicine (1 mos) • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (1 mos) • Otolaryngology (0.5 mos)

  10. Hospital Experience • In-Patient Consultations • Memorial Hermann and TIRR • Average 250 per year • Necessary examination and treatment performed either at bed-side, UDC during their admission or after discharge, or in the OR • Coordination with primary admitting team
