Governor’s Park-a-Year Initiative Add a park, historic, scenic or natural area to the state park system each year (includes development for public use of existing properties) Negligible impact on achieving benchmark Park-a-year parks Hares Canyon – 1755 acres Ft Yamhill – minor development; open for public use; an existing property Thompsons Mills – 30 acres; already acquired; historic property; improvements to provide public access

    7. Modifying the Benchmark Issues Increasing population; Fixed land base; Increasing acquisition costs Options for consideration Include acreage acquired by other jurisdictions through OPRD grant programs Include acreage “reserved” through conservation easements ????
