Higher Ed / Entertainment Community Relationships • Joint Committee of Higher Education and Entertainment Communities • Formed late 2002 to address illegal file sharing on college campuses • Comprised of leaders from universities, higher education organizations, music and motion picture executives • Goals: provide resources for education, technology solutions supporting legal music/movie services, collaboration on legislative initiatives • Internet2 specific discussions with MPAA • Increased awareness of Internet2 capabilities  increased concern from MPAA • MPAA – Internet2 initial discussions • MPAA request for work collaboratively
