A Day in the Life of an Elementary Teacher • Arrive by 7:45 • Morning Procedures • Students Arrive around 8:00 • Flag/Attendance/Lunch Count/Restrooms • Refer to daily lesson plans (teachers must have plans completed in advance and checked by administrator) • Teachers use a variety of teaching techniques: team teaching, ability grouping, small and whole group teaching literature sets, smart boards, e-mints • During breaks teachers have to: collaborate, share intervention techniques, monitor and chart students’ growth, call parents, record grades on computer and gradebook, • Day ends around 3:30
