Project Boston 1 RESTORING SIGHT INTERNATIONAL,INC Our Mission: That No Person Should Be Needlessly Blind Codman Square Community Health Center Codman Square Health Center Eye Clinic in Dorchester serves a large number of indigent patients from diverse ethnic backgrounds, 50-60 % of whom have no health insurance and many are diabetic. Lack of space and equipment have made waiting periods up to 4 months for a diabetic patient to have a diabetic retinopathy exam by a qualified ophthalmologist. RSI helped to equip an additional eye examination room by providing exam chair, stand, slit-lamp, direct and indirect ophthalmoscopes, trial lenses, etc. RSI has been asked to identify licensed ophthalmologists to assist periodically.
