  2. Climate Setting • Work in pairs • Talk and listen – 5 minutes each way • Talk about • What helps me to learn • What hinders my learning • Meet in two larger groups – 30 minutes • Agree a list of helps and a list of hinders for your team • Be ready to share this with the rest of the Workshop JOHN FAIRWEATHER ASSOCIATESPersonal & Organisation Development Consultants Tel: 01625 878756 Information and training for your business success

  3. Sample notes that you can use to run the sessions • [Note: This is an essential “warm up” exercise and works equally well in groups who are familiar with each other or where they have not met or worked together before.] • Welcome everyone to your workshop and to introduce themselves to the rest of the group ask them to work in pairs. Talk and listen means one person talks while the other listens (for 5 minutes in this case) and then they reverse roles (the listener becomes the talker and…). This means the whole exercise takes just ten minutes. • Each person then shares their own answers to the questions: make sure they don’t think they are going to talk for their partner as this turns the exercise into a memory and presentation exercise whereas it is to introduce people and be as “easy” a way as possible to start a workshop. [In our experience you will often find that participants do think they have to introduce their partners even though you don’t say that so look out for it happening (the listener taking notes is a sure sign!) • Gather their “…gains by end of Workshop” on a flip chart JOHN FAIRWEATHER ASSOCIATESPersonal & Organisation Development Consultants Tel: 01625 878756 Information and training for your business success
