Worrying trends in children’s diet A recent complementary medicine research study from University of Adelaide has revealed that children aged 9 – 10 years have poor daily diets through consuming of 50 % of junk foods which are all high in salt and sugar content. Lead researcher, Dr Melissa Whitrow stated that socio-economic status made little difference to the dietary problems highlighted her research.
“Based on the results of our study, there is much to be done to encourage nine-to-10-year-old children and their families to make healthier food choices,” she said.
