  2. Who Is Causing the Problem? • Many secularist unbelievers today see Christians as judgmental bigots and elitist bullies – always “bashing” others • Their opinion is that today’s problems can be traced to Christianity’s discriminatory ideals and the Bible’s barbaric ideology

  3. Who Is Causing the Problem? • To be fair and balanced, some unbelievers are good people and some “Christians” are bad people • Both sides should avoid sterotypes

  4. What We Are Not Defending? • Religion in general (Mt. 15:13; 16:18) • “Christendom” or anyone who wears the name “Christian” (Acts 11:26) • The presence of counterfeits does not negate the value of the genuine

  5. What We Are Not Defending? • Bad students in a class • Bad doctors in a hospital • Bad lawyers and judges in court • Bad Christians in the NT church

  6. Is Christianity the Problem? • Christians treat others the way they want to be treated (Mt. 7:12; Mk. 12:31) • Christians do not retaliate, “go the extra mile”, and live in peace with their neighbors (Mt. 5:39-44; Rom. 12:17-21; 1 Tim. 2:2)

  7. Is Christianity the Problem? • Christians help the needy, the sick, etc., and expect nothing in return (Lk. 6:35; 14:12-14) • Christians obey the laws of the land and pay their taxes (Mt. 17:24-27; 22:21; Rom. 13:1-7) with but one exception (Acts 5:29)

  8. Is Christianity the Problem? • Christians believe in sexual purity and marital faithfulness (Heb. 13:4; Mt. 19:6; Rom. 7:2-4) • Christians work to be honest and fair employees and employers (Eph. 6:5-9)

  9. Is Christianity the Problem? • Christians believe in speaking the truth in love and teaching others without coercion (Mk. 16:15-16; Eph. 4:15; 2 Tim. 2:24-26) • Being a Christian is best for everyone (1 Tim. 4:8)
