INFOhio • INFOhio, the Information Network For Ohio Schools, is a statewide cooperative project to create an electronic network linking Ohio students, teachers, library/media specialists and others via computer to: • School libraries in same district and across the state. • College and University libraries through cooperative efforts with OhioLINK. • Public and special libraries through cooperative efforts with OPLIN. • Electronic databases of government, education and other information

INFOhio & Library Automation • INFOhio uses the SirsiDynix software which is installed at all 23 Ohio Information Technology Centers (ITCs). • There are currently 2,394 libraries, 492 school districts, and more than 1,134,000 students using SirsiDynix. • This sophisticated library automation software allows member schools • to locate materials via a Web-based catalog, • loan materials via an integrated circulation component, • manage materials via sophisticated circulation, cataloging, reports, inventory components

Affordibility • Pricing is based on a per ADM cost rather than an institution flat fee. • No additional servers at the district/building level • Possible funding assistance: An LSTA (Library Services and Technology Act) automation grant, sponsored through the State Library of Ohio, will cover 75% of the costs of automation with a 25% local match.

Accountability • A cataloging, circulation, report system that enables inventory and monitoring of school purchased resources • An attendance module that enables library personnel to monitor and track patron usage of the library/media center

Ohio’s Area Media Centers (AMC) Digital Video Collection (DVC) • Available to all Ohio K-12 schools at no cost to districts, educators or students. • Collection made possible, in part, through a Library Services and Technology Act grant awarded to the AMCs by the State Library of Ohio • Funding to maintain and increase the DVC is provided by the AMCs • The DVC is hosted by INFOhio
INFOhio Digital Video Collection • This collection contains hundreds of full-length streaming videos • All grade levels • All subject areas • Available to stream live or download • Many are segmented • Available from school or home
