  2. Lesson Objectives • During this lessons you will learn about the different types of family that live in our society today. • During this lessons you will understand about the structures of families and how these affect parents lifestyles.

  3. Task 1 • Read through page 4 and 5 of the Judi Sunderland text book

  4. Task 2 copy and complete the chart below

  5. Task 3 ~ what does each type of family mean? One parent bringing up a child on his/her own.

  6. Task 4 ~ add at least one advantage or disadvantage to each type of family Parent can make decisions independently

  7. Plenary Match the types of family with there meaning • Children live in two households because of divorce or separation. • Provides a permanent home for a child. • A child is looked after by an adult for specific periods of time • Mum, dad and children all live in same house • One parent living with child/children • Uncles, aunts, grandparents may live in the same house or very close to a family. • Shared care family • Single parent family • Adoptive family • Foster family • Extended family • Nuclear family
