Consultation Consultation on conservation, access and recreational issues: - • Remains critically important to United Utilities, so that when making investment decisions, reviewing policies and developing plans, UU incorporates the very latest thinking and advice into our approach. • We proactively engage with a wide range of stakeholders both formally and informally. • Is undertaken locally at least twice a year within each of the four areas • Consultation on topics with wider application are managed by special topic groups, such as moorland management
Local Consultation Membership includes: - • Statutory Bodies – Environment Agency, Natural England, Lake District National Park Authority, Peak District National Park Authority and Police • Land Managers – Tenants, National Trust, Forestry Commission, neighbouring estates, Commoners and NFU • Charities, Trusts and Campaign Groups – RSPB, Groundwork, Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Lancashire Wildlife Trust, Longdendale Heritage Trust, Campaign to Protect Rural England, Council of Physical Recreation • Local Groups - Cumbria Tourism, Lancashire Rural Futures, archaeological groups, local access groups • Councils – County, Borough and Parish Councils • Recreational Interests – Fishing groups, mountain bikers, shooting groups, Countryside Alliance, British Mountaineering Council, Ramblers Association, footpath groups • Independent Members
