Preface • Reportable STDs in the State of Wisconsin in 2012: • Chlamydia: Chlamydia trachomatis • Syphilis: Treponema pallidum • Gonorrhea: Neisseria gonorrhea • Chancroid: Haemophilus ducreyi • PID: Pelvic Inflammatory Disease In this analysis “reportable STDs” refer specifically to chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. 2

  3. Preface • STD Surveillance data must be interpreted with caution: • Under-reporting • Uneven reporting • Incomplete data • This analysis examines several factors that influence STD rates: • Sex • Age • Race • Geography 3
