REPORTED QUESTIONS: YES / NO QUESTIONS • We do not use do / did / does (auxiliary verb) in reported questions. • ASK + (OBJECT) + IF / WHETHER + REPORTED QUESTION DIRECT SPEECH: “Did Dr Gesch lead the research?”, I asked REPORTED SPEECH: I asked if / whether Dr Gesch had led the research.
